Plans and billing
Unit Oncall is sold as a subscription. Your Organization is on one of four plans, and that plan controls two main things:
- What capacity is included — how many members you can have, how many credits you get each month, how long alert data is kept.
- Which higher-tier features are unlocked — for example domain restriction, required SSO, and audit logs.
This page covers the shape of the plans and how billing works from a customer's point of view. For exact current prices and discounts, see the public pricing page — it is the source of truth for monetary amounts.
Plan structure
| Plan | Intended for | Members | Monthly credits | Higher-tier features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Individuals and very small teams. | Small cap. | Small monthly grant. | — |
| Professional | Small teams. | Medium cap. | Medium monthly grant. | — |
| Business | Departments / mid-sized teams. | Larger cap. | Larger monthly grant. | Domain restriction, required SSO, audit logs, custom retention. |
| Enterprise | Whole-company / large-scale. | Custom. | Custom. | Everything in Business, plus dedicated support. |
Exact member caps, included credits, and retention windows for each plan are shown on the pricing page and on the Billing view inside the console.
The Business plan is the lowest tier that includes domain restriction, required SSO, audit logs, and custom retention. See Domain restriction, SSO, Audit logs, and Organization settings for what each of these does.
Credits
Credits are how Unit Oncall meters AI usage. Every month, the plan grants a fixed number of credits, and AI features consume them as you use them.
| Used for | When credits are spent |
|---|---|
| Buddy chat | Each turn that calls a model. |
| Runbook generation | When Buddy drafts, updates, or patches a Runbook (Buddy Runbook generation). |
| Postmortem generation | When Buddy drafts a Postmortem for a resolved incident (Buddy Postmortem generation). |
| Incident processing | When an incident is handled with AI assistance. |
When the included monthly credits run out, you can either let AI usage stop until the next cycle or top up with additional credits — see the pricing page for top-up pricing.
Unused monthly credits roll over for a limited period. The roll-over window depends on your plan; the exact behaviour is shown on the pricing page and on the Billing view.
Members and member caps
Plans include a number of members for the base price, with the option to add more for a per-member fee. Adding a member who would push you over the cap is rejected until you upgrade the plan.
The number of members already in your Organization also affects plan changes: downgrading to a plan whose cap is below your current member count is rejected. Remove members first, or pick a higher plan.
Data retention
Each plan keeps each data category (alerts, learning data, documents, chat history, audit logs, configuration history) for a default window (longer on higher plans). Business plan and above can override the defaults per category with the data_retention section on the Organization. See the field reference in Organization settings.
Viewing your subscription
Open the Billing view of your Organization. Owners and members with the billing role can see it (see Roles and permissions). You can review:
- The current plan and its status.
- Credit balance — included this month, top-ups, and any bonus credits.
- Recent usage statistics.
- Past invoices.
Payments and invoices
Subscriptions are processed through an external payment provider. Invoices are issued at the end of each billing cycle and become available from the Billing view; you can also download them as PDF.
ℹ️ The end-to-end self-serve checkout (upgrade, downgrade, and credit top-up directly from the console) is planned. Today, some plan changes and top-ups may require contacting Unit Oncall — this page will be updated once self-serve is fully live.
Cancelling
You can cancel from the Billing view. The subscription continues to the end of the current paid period, then expires. Cancelling does not delete the Organization — to delete it, see Organization management (cancellation is a prerequisite for deletion).
